Conditions

Skin Health

When looking at skin health we always need to look at what is going on with the gut. This is something I always do when supporting adults and kids with conditions such as eczema, rashes and psoriasis. Hormones are another factor I consider when looking at acne conditions, which are often linked to teenage development or PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome).

Women's Health

Women go through many hormonal changes and hormones can often get out of balance at some time in our lives. Whether it's period issues, Perimenopause, Menopause or PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome). As an endometriosis sufferer and having been through perimenopause and menopause, I can say that I have had a lot of personal experience with hormone ups and downs and know how disruptive they are to daily life. I have also supported women with bladder and vaginal health issues.

Thyroid Health

This is an area that often affects women and can lead to over- or under-active thyroid function. I have supported clients with Graves and Hashimotos, the two autoimmne conditions associated with thyroid health.

Digestion Disorders

This is an area I am passionate about. I started researching Crohn's years ago as it is a condition in my family. Since then I have worked with people with Crohn's, colitis, IBS, acid reflux and any other gut issues.

Stress & Tension

This is a growing issue with the fast pace of daily life. Stress can lead to people struggling to relax, to deal with everyday life, feeling overwhelmed and anxious. When stress goes on too long it can lead to burn out and exhaustion. Stress is not about lack of mental resilience, it is a physical effect on the body that puts us into fight or flight. Herbal medicine provides some great tools to help you relax and handle daily life better.

Healthy Ageing

Life's not about how long we live, it is also about the quality of life we have. Being healthy and active is an important goal as we age. However, we might find that aches and pain, weight changes, blood pressure and increased cholesterol can occur. These can be supported with diet and lifestyle changes, along with the right herbs or supplements.

Sleep Disorders

With over a third of New Zealanders experiencing sleep issues at some time, there are a lot of people not getting their best night's sleep. Many things affect healthy sleep patterns such as stress, nutrient deficiency and hormonal changes. The impact of poor sleep is not just feeling bad all day, it can affect your mood, weight and immune health. Find out about the root cause of your sleep issues and get some support for a great night's sleep.

Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health

Blood pressure, cholesterol, weight gain and blood sugar imbalance all adversely affect the metabolic health of many New Zealanders. Changes to diet and lifestyle, along with some key supplements can help support wellness in these areas.

General Health Issues

A naturopathic approach looks at the individual and what is out of balance in the body that is driving a condition. This means we can work with you to support your health, so you can be your best self.

Testimonials

What Patients Say

I recently returned to NZ after a 4 year OE. I was feeling very tired and lethargic and went to see Jane. She recommended a number of changes to my diet, supplementary vitamins and a herbal tonic.

I very quickly found my motivation levels increase and was enjoying the outdoor lifestyle that I had so been missing overseas.”

Initial Consultation
$120

Follow-up Consultation
$60

Unlike many health practitioners, Naturopaths spend the most time in our first session, discovering as much as possible about how your entire system works.
Our first session will take 1 hour depending on your needs and issues. After that most follow-up sessions are for 1/2 hour, with maybe longer if new issues or complications present themselves.

At this first meeting, we will sit down together and look at your goals and the challenges you are experiencing with your health. We will then look at how all your body systems are performing to determine what may be driving your health issues. By looking at all areas we can determine the root cause and work on this rather than looking at what may be just 'obvious' symptoms.
By taking our time and looking at the big picture we can then create an action plan for short and long-term goals to improve your health and well-being. These are summarized in a personal treatment plan, which we will progress and adapt over time.

This is where we follow up usually between 1 – 3 weeks after the initial appointment and see how you are progressing. We review progress against the treatment plan and make adjustments accordingly. The number of follow-ups depends on your progress.

Supplements & Herbal Dispensary

One of the most powerful treatments in my naturopathic ‘armoury’ are the natural herbs, essences, and supplements that have been used successfully for many years.
While not the only solution, a combination of herbal essences and the right supplements can provide support and relief while we work to re-balance your body’s systems.
